Our second annual RV REIA (Real Estate Investing Adventure) event was held outside of Lexington, Kentucky, in 2020. We were right in the middle of COVID!
The RV Park where we stayed had a big lake in which we could swim, fish, and paddle board. Needless to say, the daylight hours were spent in, on, and around the lake! The evening hours were spent around a glorious campfire!
Some of the kids learned how to bate a hook with a worm and fish for the first time. Others paddle boarded for the first time. Now and again a King-of-the-Paddle-Board contest broke out.
Laughing could be heard everywhere, all day long! Glorious!
Many serious creative deal structuring discussions were had. The topic of creative real estate investing is always at hand.
We watched a beautiful fireworks show – it lit up the night sky!
The kids played egg toss, then got introduced to Egg Suicide. It seems the kids really enjoyed smashing raw eggs into their dad’s heads!
In 2020, RV REIA grew considerably from the first RV REIA in 2019. Amazing!
How does RV REIA work? Real estate investing families gather for 5 days at a predetermined RV park somewhere in the country. In 2019, it was Wisconsin. In 2020, it was Kentucky. In 2021, it was South Dakota. In 2022, it will be Kentucky.
During the days, it’s all about adventure. Folks head out in different directions to experience everything there is to experience. In the evenings, after dinner, we gather around the fire pit to discuss creative dealmaking and important life lessons. The highlight of RV REIA comes next. Eric and Tiffany break out the guitar and lead the group in a sing–along of favorite songs – especially songs loved by the kids.This is priceless time!
How did RV REIA get started? The Cooks and Dombecks hosted the first RV REIA in 2019 in Wisconsin.
Since we’re all real estate investors, and since the Dombecks have kids, and since we both had RVs, we thought it would be a hoot to camp for a few days at a RV park that included a large waterpark. During the days the kids played hard at the waterpark, and during the evenings the adults discussed creative real estate investing transactions around the campfire.
RV REIA was born!
